Reading and Commenting as a Member

VaGoft allows readers to engage directly with specific parts of a text. Instead of commenting on an entire article, members can select a word, phrase, or sentence and attach their comment to that exact passage. This structure keeps discussions focused and grounded in the ideas presented in the text.

How it works

  1. Highlight a word, phrase, or sentence in the text
  2. A Leave Comment option appears near the selection
  3. Write your comment in the comment box
  4. Submit the comment to attach it to that passage

Your comment will appear alongside the highlighted text so other readers can view it and continue the discussion.

Tip: Comments that refer directly to the highlighted passage often lead to clearer and more thoughtful conversations.

Requesting to Become a Writer

Members who would like to publish their own writing on VaGoft can submit a request to become a writer. This process helps maintain a thoughtful collection of essays and ensures that contributions reflect the spirit of careful writing and open dialogue.

How it works

  1. Navigate to your profile page
  2. Click Request to Become a Writer
  3. Provide a short description of your writing or areas of interest
  4. Submit the request for review

Requests are reviewed by the VaGoft team, and writer access is granted once the request is approved.

Publishing a Piece as a Writer

Once approved as a writer, you can publish essays and reflections on VaGoft. Writers contribute pieces across a wide range of topics, allowing readers to explore ideas and engage in focused discussions tied directly to the text.

How it works

  1. Open the writer dashboard
  2. Create a new piece
  3. Add the title and body of your text
  4. Submit the piece for publication

After publication, readers can highlight passages in your writing and participate in discussions connected to specific parts of the text.

Requesting to Become an Expert

VaGoft also allows individuals with significant knowledge or professional experience in a particular field to contribute as experts. Expert profiles help readers identify voices with specialized insight and encourage informed discussion on complex topics.

How it works

  1. Go to your profile page
  2. Select Request to Become an Expert
  3. Choose your field of expertise
  4. Provide a short description of your background and experience

Once approved, your profile will reflect your expert role and you can contribute insights in discussions related to your field.
